    Mmm... delicious freshly baked currant bread! Who doesn't love it? Delicious with butter and sprinkles or in the savoury version with a slice of farm cheese. With the mix from Brand New Cake, you can make your own delicious currant bread. Click here to see the recipe in our blog.

    Recipe
    500g currant bread mix, 240ml water, 35g fresh yeast or 11g dry yeast, max 4g salt, approx 450g soaked currants and/or sultanas.

    Procedure to make the recipe by hand
    1. If you use fresh yeast first dissolve it in a little lukewarm water.
    2. Mix the ingredients, except for the fruits, into a dough and then knead it for another 10 minutes. At the end, knead in the fruit until it is well distributed in the flour.
    3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth or foil and leave to rise for 40 minutes in a warm place. After this, knead the dough well and then place it in a greased mould and let it rise for another 1-1.5 hours.
    4. Preheat the oven to 225°C (hot-air oven 210°C).
    5. Bake the bread for 40-50 minutes until cooked and browned.
