    German Wheat Flour Type 550 1kg
    German Wheat Flour Type 550 1kg is a versatile flour with a slightly higher protein content than Type 405. This results in greater gluten development, making the dough more elastic and helping it retain its structure better during baking. Type 550 has a slightly fuller texture and is therefore suitable for doughs that require a little more firmness.

    This flour is ideal for baking bread, pizza, savoury tarts and puff pastry. Think of white breads, focaccia, pizza dough or quiches. It is also suitable for luxury doughs such as brioche.

    Type 550 is comparable to French T55 flour and lies between patent flour and bread flour. This makes it a good choice when you want just a little more strength in your dough without it becoming too heavy.
