    Molen de Hoop Red Velvet Cake Mix 500 g
    With this mix from Molen de Hoop, you can easily bake a showstopping Red Velvet cake or a batch of vibrant cupcakes. Every slice of Red Velvet cake deserves a generous layer of cream cheese frosting, so feel free to spread it between multiple layers for an extra-indulgent finish. The finished cake pairs wonderfully with coffee or tea and is equally enjoyable as an anytime snack.

    About Molen de Hoop
    Molen de Hoop is a tall windmill built in 1850 by H.B. Meyer and later taken over by the Pijnappel family, who owned it for many years. In September 2014, Jan and Henriëtte transferred the expanded business, Grutterij-Molen ‘Molen de Hoop’ in Oud-Zevenaar, to the current managers, Frits and Maaike Botter. Frits manages the milling and accounting, while Maaike oversees day-to-day operations and curates a range of premium and gift items. Though demanding, the work feels more like a labor of love for the family, and together they keep the mill’s wheels turning.

    Molen de Hoop supplies premium raw materials such as flour and meal, as well as high-quality bread mixes and cake mixes favored by hobby and professional bakers who shop at Baktotaal.

    Recipe for one 22 cm cake: 500 g Red Velvet Cake Mix, 300 g eggs (about 6), 100 g water.

    Method
    1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (145°C fan) for even baking.
    2. Using a mixer set to medium speed, beat the cake mix, eggs and water until the batter is light and fluffy, about 8 minutes.
    3. Grease a 22 cm cake tin and fill it with the batter.
    Bake in the centre of a preheated oven for 40–45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the centre comes out clean.

    The mix also yields about 20 portions when baked in individual servings (based on 500 g of mix).
