    Molen de Hoop Crème Brûlée Mix 100 g
    This smooth custard is traditionally finished with a thin layer of caramelized cane sugar for a perfect balance of texture and flavor. With this convenient mix from Molen de Hoop, home bakers and professionals can easily create authentic crème brûlée at home or in the pastry kitchen. It’s an elegant addition to Christmas and Easter menus, or any special occasion.

    About Molen de Hoop
    Molen de Hoop is a tall windmill built in 1850 by H.B. Meyer and later taken over by the Pijnappel family, who owned it for many years. In September 2014, Jan and Henriëtte transferred the expanded Grutterij-Molen “Molen de Hoop” Oud-Zevenaar business to its current managers, Frits and Maaike Botter. Frits focuses on milling and accounting, while Maaike manages the day-to-day operations and curates the range of premium and gift items. Though demanding, the work feels more like a labor of love for the family, and together they keep the mill’s wheels turning.

    Molen de Hoop supplies premium flours, meals, bread mixes and cake mixes that are popular with home and hobby bakers who shop at Baktotaal.

    Recipe for four to six bowls
    100 g Crème Brûlée Mix, 250 g whipping cream, and 270 g milk.

    Method
    1. Bring the whipping cream and milk to a boil.
    Once the mixture bubbles, remove the pan from the heat, add the Crème Brûlée mix, and whisk until smooth.
    3. Return the mixture to the heat, bring it back to a boil, and cook for a few seconds, stirring continuously.
    4. Divide the custard among four to six ramekins and refrigerate for at least three hours.
    5. Just before serving, sprinkle the surface with cane sugar and caramelise it with a kitchen torch or under a preheated grill until golden and bubbly.
