Speculaas mould Five figures Make your own beautiful old Dutch speculaas dolls with your own traditional speculaas mould. The mould has a relief of different figures.
A speculaas mould is an old-fashioned cookie mould that was used by bakers in the past. Nowadays, this craft has been replaced by mechanisation and this part of the baker's craft has changed significantly. With this speculaas mould, you can still make beautiful speculaas figures yourself in the traditional way.

Recipe for making speculaas dough
Ingredients: -150 grams of butter -125 grams of light brown caster sugar -1 teaspoon of salt -2 level tablespoons of speculaas spices (10 grams) -1 tablespoon milk-50 grams sliced almonds-200 grams self-raising flour (or 200 grams plain flour with 1 teaspoon baking powder)
Method: Mix the butter, sugar and salt into a creamy mixture, then add the tablespoon of milk. Mix the self-raising flour with the speculaas spices, sift this over the butter mixture and stir until combined. Once everything is well mixed, knead the dough.
Leave the speculaas dough to rest in the fridge for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight). Allow the dough to come to room temperature and use the speculaas mould.
How to use the speculaas mould: Grease the mould with cooking oil . After 2 hours, grease the mould again. Then lightly dust the mould with some flour . Remove the dough from the refrigerator after at least 1 hour (preferably overnight). Allow the dough to come to room temperature .-Press the dough firmly into the speculaas mould and cut away the excess. -Then turn the mould over and tap it so that the biscuits fall onto the baking tray. -Sprinkle the speculaas with -Lightly dust the mould again with flour and refill it.
Bake the speculaas for approx. 20 minutes in a preheated oven at 200 degrees.
