Molen de Hoop Spice Cake Mix 650 g
Looking to bake a moist, spice-rich cake? Molen deHoop Spice Cake Mixmakes it simple. This blend follows a classic miller’s formula and can be enhanced with roasted hazelnuts or your choice of nuts for extra depth. Treat your guests to a generous slice of spice cake.

Recipe
Simply combine 650 g of mix with 250 g (or 250 ml) of buttermilk.

Method
1. Preheat your oven to 160°C (fan oven 145°C).
2. Whisk the cake mix with the buttermilk until fully combined.
Grease a 1.5-litre cake tin and pour in the batter.
Bake for 60–65 minutes until a skewer inserted in the centre comes out clean.
If using a paper tin, there’s no need to grease it; simply bake at 150°C for 55–60 minutes.

About Molen de Hoop
Molen de Hoop is a tall windmill that was built in 1850 by H.B. Meyer and taken over by the Pijnappel family two years later. The mill has been owned by this family for many years. In September 2014, Jan and Henriëtte transferred the thriving business, Grutterij-Molen “De Hoop” Oud-Zevenaar, to the current managers: Frits manages the milling and bookkeeping, while Maaike oversees day-to-day operations and curates a range of premium gift items. Though demanding, the work feels more like a labor of love for the family, and together they keep the mill’s wheels turning.

Today, the mill supplies premium flour, meal, bread mixes and cake mixes that are popular with hobby and professional bakers alike, and are proudly featured in the Baktotaal range.
