Frost Form Cake Coating Kit Round 10 cm
This handy kit contains all the tools you need to stack, fill and finish a cake quickly and neatly. Ideal for special-occasion cakes such as weddings and birthdays, it lets you assemble a 4-inch (10 cm) layer cake with minimal fuss.
Preparation
Before use, wash the liner in warm, soapy water, then rinse under warm running water for a few minutes to ensure it stays flat and doesn’t curl.
Assembling a layer cake
Bake your cake layers, then chill them overnight for easier handling. Use the included cutter to trim each layer to a neat 4-inch round.
1. Spread a thin layer of buttercream on the base, position the liner on top, and ensure it’s flat and centred.
2. Pipe a generous layer of buttercream onto the base, then press the first cake layer firmly into the Frost Form kit.
3. Pipe a layer of buttercream onto the cake, then add the next layer. Repeat until you reach the final layer.
4. Gently raise the cutter to confirm that the cake is straight, then chill the assembled cake in the refrigerator or freezer.
5. Gently lift the cutter and peel away the liner.
Coating the cake
1. Set a narrow dowel or similar support in the centre of the clear acetate mould, then place your cake on top and add the liner.
2. Gently lift the clear mould and secure the liner in place.
3. Pour the coating over the cake.
4. Return the cake to the narrow support, then gently lift away the mould and liner.
